About Me

Nic Driscoll - Counsellor

About Me: About

Talking therapy can help us to understand our experiences, and the feelings, thoughts and behaviours that arise from having those experiences. My own experience of talking therapy during times of questioning and crisis, and the relationship formed between my therapist and I, effected personal change and growth. These experiences led to a desire to become a counsellor, and have significantly influenced how I work with my clients.

About Me: Text

I qualified as a counsellor in 2020, having completed my training during the Covid-19 pandemic. While this was at times very stressful, it did not deter me from completing a further year of study. In 2021, again under pandemic conditions, I achieved a BA qualification.

I have a thriving private practice in Gosport that is currently being commisioned by a local schools academy trust to offer counselling to three secondary schools.

About Me: Text

I have worked for a National Health Service (NHS) Youth Counselling Service and have a background in pre-school, primary and secondary education. I am experienced in working with children and young people who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs as well as those who are classed as Looked After Children (LAC).

I have specialist drug and alcohol training that enabled me to work as a counsellor with those affected by drug and alcohol use, whether they were the user, family member or friend.

My counselling experience has become varied and diverse and has enabled me to create a general practice while specialising in working with young people.

About Me: Text

Being an ethical counsellor is of the utmost importance. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to the high standards set out within their Ethical Framework for Counsellling and Psychotherapy. All of my work is supervised by a qualified and experienced supervisor who is also a registered member of the BACP.
